lorac ‘i love brunch’ + swatches

img_6445I feel like a blog post on a Sunday is so random, but, yet here I am. I meant to put this up a few days ago, tbh, but that just didn’t happen, so I apologize 🙂

Honestly, most of my make up posts have been going on Instagram lately, so don’t forget to follow me there to see some of that so you can have more content. Anyway, I have had this Lorac palette for a few months now, and haven’t even put my hands on it, so sad, I know. If you have seen older posts, you know I love the Lorac palettes. Those and the ABH palettes are some of my favorite shadows because they are just so pigmented and smooth.

These shades are so amazing. I love a good pastel palette, which are hard to find, so that makes it 10x better. I enlisted my bestfriend and her child as my arms for swatching, her daughter loves watching me do my make up, so of course she had a blast, lol. Since these are pastels, they did look better on a darker skin tone. Enjoy the swatches and I will see you guys soon :p xo

also, s/o to my bestfriend for this amazing shot. you can see her work HERE

Hello babies, its July, I hope you have been enjoying your summer! I have been completely horrible and have just fell off. I have felt so unmotivated to post. I hope my mini Instagram posts have been enough to make up for not being around on here for a bit!

Any who, I am here to post some polish swatches! OPI was kind enough to send me the California Dreaming collection *insert drool emoji here*

This collection is available and regular OPI formula as well as the Infinite Shine formula!

This is going to be a short little post but I figured you would enjoying seeing the collection. I rarely use any polish that isn’t OPI, so that says a lot about how I feel about OPI’s formula. It is the only brand that I feel really lasts, and you don’t have to pile it on for it to be bright and pigmented!

Swatches below and see you soon xoimg_6446

so I decided to FINALLY swatch the Dream Girl and Free Spirit palettes. I  have literally had these two for so long and I never touched them. It has seriously been so long that I don’t think Free Spirit is even being sold anymore, at least not on Lorac’s site.

Dream Girl

(side note: if anyone is interested let me know in the comments and I will hold a little giveaway for these two palettes if there are enough people down; because I seriously don’t use them and they will have only been swatched.)

so aside from me not ever using

Free Spirit

them, they are actually really pretty palettes. plus they’re Lorac, so the quality and pigment are seriously amazeballs. I think it is because they are smaller, that my larger palettes got more attention and they got lost in the shuffle of it all.

Dream Girl is such a fun little palette and I love all the shimmer shades, especially the blue and copper ones. Definitely a fun night out palette. Free Spirit on the other hand, is a really nice natural/neutral palette for just an everyday type of thing. It has some really nice shades as well. I felt that some of the shades were harder to swatch because I am so pale, so sorry if you can’t see the full pigment D:

What are some of your favourite Lorac palettes? Mine is hands down the Unzipped palette! *insert heart eyes*

Also if you’re interested in doing a giveaway for these two let me know below, if there is more than 5 of you guys, I will definitely do it. Also should there be two winners or one winner gets both? Let me know!

Carli Bybel – yay or nay?

Hello beauties!openface

I hope you all had a good holiday and had fun with your families. Sorry this post was so late. I was out of state for the holiday and didn’t have a chance to update before I left. Now before I jump into this post, I did want to let you all know that we are about 13 followers away from the 1,000 mark! 13! So make sure you tell your friends and share the blog on Twitter/IG/FB. Once we hit that, the giveaway instructions will go up. The giveaway prize is a $120 dollar value, and soon you will know what it is (also there may be upcoming hints on my IG) 😛

eyeshadowNow, for what you came for.

So, this is actually my first BHcosmetics purchase. I have seen/heard mixed reviews so it took me a while to try anything from the brand. So when I was walking around Ulta a few weeks ago, I saw the Carli Bybel palette, and it was getting a lot of hype. I figured for less than $15 it was worth a try. It totally was. I am a highlighter fiend and was looking for new shadows and thought it was a perfect combo.

Seriously, this is the best palette you can get for under $20. Everything is so smooth and buttery, kind of like the ABH palettes. They are also a lot more pigmented than you would think they would be for the price. Also ignore my swatching, I tried doing a straight line and it just did not work out for me, lol. img_1463

The highlighters vary in shades, which is great because there is a highlight for a lot of skin tones, however, because of that and because I am so pale, I can only really use two. BUT I’m not gonna complain too much because it is still such a great palette.

Both the highlighters and eyeshadows blend very well and stay well through out the day. Definitely a 10/10 for me and I totally recommend it.

Does anyone have any favourite BHcosmetics products they love? What else should I try?

xx

holy swatches, batman!

img_0339Sorry sorry sorry for being so late.

I recently just started up my courses for my bachelors degree so I have been running around like a lunatic doing this and that. If you have been on my Instagram, I have posted a couple of mini-posts there for you guys.

So as promised, I have brought you swatches from Cargo’s ‘Chill in the Six’ palette that I posted about not too long ago on Instagram.

Also, disclosure, I did receive the product for the purpose of review, but am not sponsored or receiving compensation.

Now, as many of you know I am a HUGE fan of warm colours, and reds and oranges are my favourite. BUT BUT BUT, these colours are SO amazing. This may be one of the very few cool-tone palettes that I really enjoy. You can also make so many amazing smoky eye looks. I especially love making a smoky eye with ‘Hockey’ and using ‘Blizzard’ on the eye lid. *drool*

I think this palette is super cute in it’s overall look. ‘Chill in the Six’ was made to pay its dues to where Cargo Cosmetics started, in Toronto. So all of the names of the shadows are very Canadian, and I think it is adorable! These colours are great for fall/winter.

I also thought it was fun how the colours are broken into quads. So you can use them however, or use within the colour scheme of a quad!

What are your favourite Cargo products? Or what Cargo products have you been wanting to try out?

Updates: Don’t forget to share the blog around so we can get to 1,000 followers and have the next giveaway! I am super excited. The last giveaway went so well so I am looking forward to this.

Also, I finally made a Facebook page for the blog if you would like to check that out and share/like it! I will post the at the bottom with all other social media links!

Also I do have Snapchat as well @shawnadawnx

Ciao for now! xx

Mini Colourpop Haul (+swatches)

colourpop

SWATCH TIME!

ultramattelipWait, I got ahead of myself, first thing first; hi. I feel like I have been posting about palettes too much, so I bought some lippies into the mix!

If you don’t already know, I am a huge Colourpop fan. The lipsticks and highlighters are my absolute favourites things from Colourpop. ALSO; if you plan on making any purchases, I suggest you get them in today before the free domestic shipping ends.

With the change of seasons, Colourpop has released some new fall shades, that are just amazing. My favourite fall colour so far is ‘Times Square’. If I had to pick a colour to represent fall, that would be it. My second favourite is ‘Trap’. These lippes are pigmented and apply with no patches.

I do have more lippies that I forgot to dig out, but decided to just do some swatches with my recent ones.

Now I do know that a lot of people hate that these lippies are drying and to be honest, I agree. They can be drying, but that goes for any matte lippie. So be sure to moisturize before application. Just like you moisturize your face before make up application, you should do the same before you apply a lipstick.highlighter

Lippies aside, some pretty amazing highlighters come from Colourpop. At the moment, I only have a couple of highlighters, and ‘Stole the Show’ is my favourite. These highlighters are super pigmented and very smooth. They also blend well.

What are some of your favourite fall make up products? Favourite Colourpop products?

S/N: I finally made the Facebook page (link below) for the blog, so feel free to hop over and give it a “like” and some shares! Remember, once we get to 1,000 followers on the blog we will have a giveaway! Also give me some of your giveaway ideas.

Make Up For Ever: Ultra HD

Hello my little ladybugs! mufelay

I intended to post yesterday, but I have been sick this week. To be honest, I am not feeling that great today either, but I wanted to get some content out for you guys.

Also, I am going to start posting twice a week very soon.

To those of you who have had a hard time finding THE foundation. Make Up For Ever may be a good place to start. Not only do they have liquid foundation, but they also have stick foundation.

mufeswatcgMy favourite thing about Make Up For Ever is that they have such a wide range of shades to choose from.

It kind of makes it hard to not find a match.

The liquid foundation is wonderful. It is super thin in consistency, but will also give you great coverage. Since it is a thin product, it really helps you get a smooth and even finish.

It is one of the more natural looking and more comfortable foundations I have tried. It also works well with SO many different skin types, which is a plus.

The foundation stick is equally amazing. This stick has a thicker consistency, but still blends in nicely and is comfortable. Faceeee.jpg

Darker shades also work really well as a contour stick. Also I know a lot of stick products I have found are harder to blend but this foundation stick is SUPER blendable.

Me, personally, I think these are going to be my go to fall/winter products.

What are your favourite fall/winter foundations/products? Let me know below.

The products in this post were sent to me by Influenster and Make Up For Ever (also thank you so much to them!).
